It was a great shock to hear of Martin's death. We worked with him when he was Associate Dean of the Faculty of The Built & Natural Environments & later Acting Dean of The Faculty of Environment & Technology and remember his success in building up research strengths as well as linking them to innovative approaches to teaching at post-graduate level. We also remember his contribution to the development of the University framework for postgraduate degrees through SPRS. We send our condolences to his family at this very difficult time.
