This is shocking news. Martin was a very reserved person but what I learnt over many years was that he could be counted on. Whenever you needed to call on him he was there and if he could he would sort it out. Dependable. And that counts for a lot in this world. As others have said his enthusiasm and understanding of the role UWE could play in regional development was absolutely invaluable.I am so sorry that we never got to cast that fly together.
